Work Experience
A+E X-Ray Department Receptionist - University Hospital Lewisham, Lewisham (June 2003-August 2003)
During my time at the hospital I was the first point of call for members of the public who came for an emergency x-ray. I also had to liaise with other departments within the hospital, tracking down patient files and supplying them to the correct people, including doctors and radiographers. In addition to this, I also helped the Outpatient X-Ray department clear the back log of filing.
Outpatient X-Ray Filist - University Hospital Lewisham, Lewisham (June 2002-July 2002)
The primary purpose of this job was to help to the Outpatient X-Ray Department in providing a fast and efficient filing system. The job also required me to retrieve missing patient x-ray files from all over the hospital, and store them in the appropriate place.
Office assistant - J.R. Immigration Consultancy, Brixton (1999-2001)
My position here within this family based business was to provide clerical support to the consultants, including filing, greeting clients at the main desk and maintaining correspondence with clients via telephone, letters and faxes.
Volunteer Experience
Voluntary Community Service, Mottingham (2003-2004)
During my free afternoons at sixth form I enrolled on the school's community service programme, opting to help teach primary school children to read, and aiding teachers in the classroom.
Voluntary Community Service, Eltham (2003-2004)
My second placement in the school community service programme was spent at a retirement home for the elderly, where I would make tea for them, whilst talking and relating to them.
Fundraising for the Shaftesbury Society (2003)
During my time in sixth form college I also volunteered to do street fundraising in central London on behalf of the Shaftesbury Society, where I would explain the purpose and aims of the charity and collect money for them.
